2023 Yúk'e Arts Market

Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association (YFNCT) and Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre are pleased to announce the fifth annual Yúk’e Arts Market will take place from December 6 to 16 at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre.

The Yúk’e Arts Market will showcase artwork from Indigenous Yukon artists displayed in a beautiful gallery setting.

We’re extending an invitation to all Indigenous artists living and working in the Yukon to submit an application to be part of the market which will coincide with the well-established 12 Days of Christmas.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE MARKET?
All Indigenous visual artists living in Yukon are invited to submit an application.

HOW WILL IT WORK?

Step 1. Registration
Artists who wish to participate are asked to complete a simple online registration form HERE by November 3

Step 2. Inventory
Start creating! Keep in mind that tree ornaments,  earrings, moccasins, mittens, hats, headbands, keychains, lanyards, patches, baby attire, art prints and granny hanky anything sold really well last year.

Step 3. Delivery of Artwork
After a gentle jurying process, selected artists will be asked to deliver artwork to YFNCT beginning on November 14 through November 30 at our inventory location in Unit 10, upstairs in the Horwood’s Mall. You can bring in your work between 10am and 2pm, Monday through Friday by appointment only (contact information is below). Artists living and working outside of Whitehorse will receive a subsidy for shipping your work to and from Whitehorse.

Step 4. Sales and Payment
Artists will be paid for their sales one time only at the end of the market. Please remember that we take a 25% commission on the artwork that sells. The commission covers only a very small portion of the expenses involved in hosting the market. Cheques will be mailed out promptly after the de-inventory process is complete. There will be the option to receive payment through direct deposit. Details for this will be included in future communications.

Step 5. Retrieving unsold artwork
Artists will be asked to come to Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre between the dates of December 19 and 21 to pick up any unsold items. Artists living outside of Whitehorse can anticipate their work being mailed back during this time or other arrangements can be made for pick-up.

Lastly
YFN Arts is here for you if you require assistance pricing your work or if you’re looking for information on items that have sold well in the past. Feel free to reach out anytime.
