Silver Jewelry Carving Workshop

YFNCT is bringing Giskaast artist, Arlene Ness, to Whitehorse again to host a Silver Jewelry workshop!

The workshop is 2 WEEKS LONG and will be held at the Northern Cultural Expressions Society (137A Industrial Road)
WEEK 1 - Monday, February 18th to Friday, February 22nd (9:00am to 4:00pm)
WEEK 2 - Monday, February 25th to Friday, March 1st (9:00am to 4:00pm)

Arlene will be teaching Level 1 of Basic Graved Jewelry Techniques for artists new to the medium as well as Level 2 for those who attended her workshop in November 2017.

Level 1 of Basic Engraved Jewelry techniques will cover preparing the metal for graving, forming and shaping metal, introduction to jewelry tools, and graving techniques for formline design on metal. The end result will be a wrap ring, pendant, and/or bracelet.

Level 2 of Basic Graved Jewelry Techniques will cover multiple stage solder projects and bezel setting, a review of preparing metal for graving, forming, and riveting. The end result will be a ring or pendant with bezel.

The workshop fee is $250 to cover the material costs. Payment plans are available if needed.
